To prevent your baby from running out of breast milk

Visitors to the Maternity School gathered for a lecture/discussion on "Successful breastfeeding". During the lecture, the lecturer Natalja Bartkevičienė, a certified breastfeeding consultant, stressed the importance of natural feeding, the advantages of breast milk, possible breastfeeding mistakes and failures, and gave advice on how to avoid them and what aids to use to prevent the baby from running out of breast milk.

At the beginning of the lecture, the lecturer stressed the importance of the bond between the baby and the mother, which is established in the first months of life not only through cuddling, rocking, talking, but also through breastfeeding.

Adequate nutrition is undoubtedly one of the most important factors in a baby's growth, development, immune system strength, overall health and adaptation. Breast milk is the best natural food for babies and provides all their nutritional needs during the first six months of life. It contains all the nutrients (more than 400) necessary for the baby's growth and development and is easily absorbed by the body. No other substitute for breast milk can match the composition of milk produced by the mother's body.

Lecturer N. Bartkevičienė emphasised that the role of the father in the process of natural feeding is also very important. Only an understanding, loving, supportive and knowledgeable dad will be a good helper, so she encourages people to come to the breastfeeding lectures together.

Feeding a baby naturally is a joy and a challenge, so Bartkevičienė says that the first lessons should be learned by attending special courses or classes for pregnant women. It is very important that the maternity ward also has practices that protect, promote and support breastfeeding. From then on, it depends on the strength of the mother's bond with her child, her understanding and patience, the support of the household, the woman's well-being and her desire to breastfeed.

During the meeting, Danutė Šilkaitienė, Head of the Maternity School, handed over gifts/handouts presenting GENBA PHARMA products to the visitors of . She also gave the booklets "Tips for breastfeeding mothers" and "Breastfeeding".
