Exercise and massage classes for mothers and babies at the Maternity School

The Kėdainiai District Maternity School, as part of the programme "Health Promotion Practicum for Mum and Baby", organised exercise and massage classes for parents and their babies. These sessions provided an opportunity to strengthen the body, improve well-being and further strengthen the bond between mum, dad and child.

Benefits of exercise. The classes took place in the cosy and safe environment of the programme's implementing partner - the Kėdainiai Adult and Youth Training Centre, where parents, together with Santa Vareikiene, a physiotherapist and therapeutic massage specialist, carried out exercises specially tailored to the needs of young children. For the little ones, these activities were not only fun, but also an opportunity to develop their movement, balance and coordination. The exercises strengthened the emotional bond between parents and babies, built trust and a sense of security.

Massage sessions combine gentleness and health. In the baby massage classes, mums and dads learnt how to use gentle touches to help their baby relax, improve sleep, digestion and overall well-being. Regular massage strengthened babies' immune systems, stimulated growth and helped them calm down after a busy day.

The classes were led by a former Motherhood School mother. Exercise and massage classes were led by Santa, a former Mothers' School mother, who, back in the familiar environment as a trainer, shared her experience, knowledge and warm support. Her personal experience as a mother helped to further understand the needs of mothers, and her professionalism ensured a safe and pleasant atmosphere during each meeting.

Community and support. These meetings have become a space not only for physical activity, but also for fellowship and support. Mothers shared experiences, exchanged tips and felt stronger together. Participation in the sessions encouraged the creation of a friendly, welcoming community where every mother and baby felt welcome.

Gifts. At the end of the meetings, Danutė Šilkaitienė, the head of the School of Motherhood, gave the participants not only printed educational materials, but also massage balls and exercise balls, purchased from the programme's funds, so that the mothers could continue to practice the massage and exercise techniques at home. The gift baskets were supplemented with GENBA PHARMA products and merchandise with the logo of the Maternity School, produced with the programme funds.
