Important news about free vaccinations!

The National Public Health Center (NVSC) under the Ministry of Health informs that from December 9, 2025, the National Immunoprophylaxis Program Coordination Council for 2024–2028, having evaluated the recommendations of independent experts and financial possibilities, has decided to expand vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis and include people aged 50–60 in the program. Until now, people aged 50–55 were eligible for vaccination at the expense of the state.

This age group was selected based on epidemiological data – it is among people aged 50–60 that the highest incidence and most severe consequences of the disease are recorded. These are economically active residents, so falling ill can result in significant economic losses. According to research data, the average age of people with tick-borne encephalitis in Lithuania is around 55.

We would also like to inform you that, as of December 9, 2025, the age limit for vaccination against pneumococcal infection has been lowered – persons aged 65 and older are now eligible for free vaccination. Until now, this option was available to residents aged 75 and older.

You can register for vaccinations at the Family Medicine Department I reception desk by calling the following telephone numbers:
