Changes to the process of determining disability and related needs will take effect in May
Please be advised of the following changes at the Agency for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities effective May 1, 2026:
The Agency will no longer make decisions regarding the nature and conditions of work or the need for technical assistance measures.
The decision regarding a specific individual’s ability to perform a particular job will be made by a healthcare facility during a mandatory medical examination.
The agency will determine the need for reimbursement of the costs associated with training a service dog.
The Agency's self-service system has been updated – requests are now accepted through the SPIS system.
Amend the procedures for determining eligibility levels and the need for compensation for the costs of providing individual assistance, a passenger car, or its technical adaptation.
