ON THE PREVENTION OF TICK-BORNE ENCEPHALITIS
In 2025, 166 cases of tick-borne encephalitis were reported in Kaunas County. (84.9% of those who fell ill had not been vaccinated.) 23.5% of those who fell ill were between the ages of 50 and 60.
To strengthen the prevention of infectious diseases and raise public awareness of the threat of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE), we would like to remind you that vaccination is the most effective means of protection. The government funds tick-borne encephalitis vaccination for residents aged 50–60, with the aim of increasing vaccination coverage in this age group and protecting against the severe consequences of the disease.
