Regular testing—a simple way to look after your health and that of your loved ones
Regular testing—a simple way to look after your health and that of your loved ones
The prevention of infectious diseases is not only about protecting against illness, but also about safeguarding public health. Every test performed contributes to the earlier detection of infections and the reduction of their spread; therefore, in June, Lina Dubauskienė, a social worker at the Mental Health Department of the Kėdainiai Public Health Center, together with general practice nurse Danutė Šilkaitienė, visited:
- At the Kėdainiai Community Social Center
- Kėdainiai Family Assistance Center
- At the offices of the “Kėdainiai Samaritans” Association
- At the shelter of the Kėdainiai Community Social Center.
During the visits, residents, visitors, and staff at the facilities were given the opportunity to take rapid tests for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B and C free of charge and anonymously. Participants received pre- and post-test counseling, information on health protection and proper wound care, and were provided with preventive and informational materials. These low-threshold services contribute to the early detection of infectious diseases, raise public awareness of the risks posed by infectious diseases and addictions, and encourage people to take care of their health and choose a healthier lifestyle.
Residents of the district who wish to receive the above services free of charge and anonymously are invited to contact the Mental Health Department of the Kėdainiai PSPC, Budrio st. 5, Social Workers' Office No. 1 or call 0 611 10420, 0 695 18681 (we will agree on the date, time and place of the meeting).
Health starts with knowledge. Get tested, get checked, and take care of yourself!
